Shared Meal
White noise
Buzzing at internal
And external stimuli
Memories
And triggers
Twitches
And aches
Your voices appear
And I hear what
You’d say
The shame washes
As though to clean
The empty plate
Replacing hope for new
Spoiled
Remnants of shared meals
My attempt to move thru
Is led by consumption
Yet I have not yet
Cleansed
To bring in more
How must I heal
When tainted voices
And slathered vile
Splash my internal mind and skin
How can I break down
What’s not natural
Organic
What the earth has not produced
But the man crafted
Pain that’s thrifted
Time and time again
