In the mist

Flicker

My eyes follow”

“How must I heal

When tainted voices

And slathered vile

Splash my internal mind and skin”

“And I thank the universe

That the earth hasn’t taken you back”

“Where in that moment

I felt the beating of their heart

The whir of their chakra

Floating in their chest”

“I have been shut out

Rendered vulnerable

And helpless

To the outside world”

“When I freeze throughout my day

I sense you with me”
